Every marker is a real event at a real camp, from the official Black Rock City listings. The glyph tells you what kind: ♪ party, ⌂ class, ▽ bar, ◗ food, ✎ craft, ✦ art.
Markers glow brighter the closer an event is to starting, and fade as it ends. A party two hours out sits dim; the same party fifteen minutes out burns bright. Glance at the map and the bright things are the things happening now.
Tap a marker to see what it is. Where several events share a corner, the marker shows a number — tap it to cycle through them.
Pinch or drag the map to move around. Double-tap to snap back to the whole city.
Can't decide? Hit Re-seek and the oracle chooses for you. Every camp that matches your filters lights up, the wind takes them one by one, and whichever ember survives is where you're going.
Lost? Tap it and the app reads your GPS back to you as a playa address — “you're at 4:15 & F.” Works with no signal at all; GPS is satellite.
Set your camp once. After that, one tap gives you the direction and walking distance back to your own tent, from anywhere in the city.
Toilets shows all 45 banks and tells you which is nearest — those positions come from the official city GIS data.
Medical, Rangers, Ice and Info come from the same place — Burning Man's own published GIS, which lists Rampart, the three Emergency Services stations, Ranger HQ and its outposts, the Arcticas and Playa Info by survey coordinate. These are the official positions, not estimates.
They are the 2025 layout, and the city is rebuilt every year, so they will be refreshed when the 2026 data publishes. In a real emergency flag down a Ranger — they are everywhere, and faster than any map.
